Participants and co-organizators of the"4th Kozara Ethno festival" 2008

On the 47 children festival in Vojvodina - 18.05.2008.

Participation on the international festival, "SLOFOLK" in Novo Mesto " Slovenia during 29.4 " 4.5. 2008.

We participated on the manifestation " Winter gathering"23.02.2008. in Piskavica

Apperance on " Academy St. Sava" in Berlin on the 02.02.2008 and Munich on 03.02.2008.

CS Piskavica has made apperance on " Academy of St. Sava" in Tehnic highschool in Banja Luka and at junior high of Ciril and Metodi in Piskavica on the 27.1.2008.

09.september of 2007

Appearance on "Brankovo kolo" in Novi Sad

13th of october CS with it"s source and ethno group will make an appearance on the event "Dani Drenje" in Drvar.

At the end of october CS will be the host of children group of CS "Mladost" from Stepojevac.

We are preparing for the concert in Austria for the national ortodox holiday St. Sava at the end of january 2008.

We participated in 30 national gathering of cultural societies in banja Vrucica (Teslic) where we won following medals:

- 3 place for the ethno part in ortodox custom "Perusanje kukuruza"

- 3 place for the originality in a role of old Serbian custom "Slava"

- special prize for the unique traditional, home made national holliday cake

12.06.2007. - Kozara ethno 2007 -
Main idea of this manifestation is to present forgotten parts of old customs as a turistic potential of mountain Kozara and it's region and promote a country tourism as a way to protect our homeland true cultural values.
The ethno event of Kozara shows the esence of "folk", it reminds it's visitors of the way how people lived before and presents it as a interesanting touristic attraction.

4th Kozara ETHNO festival coming up! Dear friends, After 5 years of existance we are pround to present us on the 4th Kozara ethno festival that will take place in Piskavica this summer. In this manifestation we will show the way of life in Kozara with actors and regular citizens who will be dreased in traditional clothing, they will be equiped with authentical traditional tools. Main theme of this event will be „ traditional wedding customs in old Kozara“. We will organize a traditional wedding, exposition of bride’s and groom’s participants, also the market of home made products. All the participants of „competative part“ of the festival will have to present themselves with at least one wedding song. Also in this manifestation we will organize a tournament in traditional sport disciplines, lectures in fields of countryside tourism and protection of nature.

Kozara ETHNO 2008- link to web site/ Manifestation " 4th Kozara Ethno festival 2008" is organized by KUD Piskavica and Touristic organization of city Banja Luka. It will be kept between 4th and 5th july 2008 in Piskavica (Community center) beneath Kozara, on the 6th in Laktasi and on the 7th july on summer stage of fort Kastel. We will color the event with ehtno sound trough music and traditional dances performed by groups from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kozara and international guests. Banja Luka Banja Luka covers some 96.2 km2 (37.1 mi2) of land in northwestern Bosnia on the river Vrbas The city is located at 44.78° N 17.19° E. Downtown is at 163 m above sea level, surrounded by hills. The source of the river Vrbas is some 90 km. to the south, and the tributary rivers Suturlija, Crkvena, and Vrbanja flow into the Vrbas at Banja Luka. Banja Luka also has a number of springs close by. The area immediately around Banja Luka is woodland, although a bit farther out there are a number of mountains. The city itself is built in the Banja Luka valley, which is located on the transition between high and low mountain areas. The most notable of these mountains are Manjača (1214 meters), Čemernica (1338 meters), and Tisovac (1172 meters). These are all part of the Dinaric alps mountain range

Piskavica Is a very ethno orianted village near Banja Luka. It's unique historic value is very important to this festival. It is distanced from Banja Luka around 30 km and is a base of this ethno festival. You will find some of pictures and programs in our meni. Hope we will see you on 29th of jun in our small town. Kozara The protection of cultural, as well as natural values of Kozara is the main function of National Park.The culture is manifested in different forms (history classes, exhibit hall in the Museum, literary meetings, archeological and architectural heritage, artist colonies, and gatherings regarding different holidays).Commemorative complex on Mrakovica is the centre of cultural events.
